‘The Memory of Darkness, Light and Ice’ wins Best Documentary
Fall 2024
Photography: Kathy Kasic
The 2024 Raw Science Film Festival has honored ‘The Memory of Darkness, Light, and Ice’ (2024) with a win for Best Professional Documentary Feature. The film is a 56-minute documentary film about the startling discovery of a long-lost sediment core pulled from the depths of a Cold War-era secret military base. I had the pleasure of working alongside Director Kathy Kasic of Metamorph Films and Editor Tony Hale to animate many graphic sequences and sea level rise projection maps for the film. ‘The Memory of Darkness, Light, and Ice’ (2024) will be screened at the upcoming 2025 Wild and Scenic Film Festival.

‘Covenant of the Salmon People’ wins Emmy for Best Documentary
Photography: Jesse Andrew Clark
The 2024 NW Regional Emmys have honored ‘Covenant of the Salmon People’ (2023) with a win for Best Documentary! I had the pleasure of working alongside Director Shane Anderson and Editor / Art Director Jesse Andrew Clark to give motion to many archival photo sequences and maps seen throughout the film. Similar to Swiftwater Film’s prior Emmy winning film ‘The Lost Salmon’, I was thrilled to once again be given room to experiment creatively with different animation styles and approaches to help illustrate the story of the Nez Perce tribe. Many congratulations to the team that pulled it all together!
